The earthquake that devastated Haiti less than 48 hours ago has touched Hollywood and many celebs have reached out to lend a helping hand.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were one of the first to donate US$1 million to the emergency medical operation responding to the disaster. “It is incredibly horrible to see a catastrophe of this size hit a people who have been suffering from extreme poverty, violence and unrest for so many decades,” says Ange.

“We understand the first response is critical to serve the immediate needs of countless people who are now displaced from their homes, are suffering trauma, and most require urgent care,” Brad adds.

Wyclef Jean, who was born in Haiti, has been busy calling for donations to be made to the Yele Haiti Fund. Celebs like Adam Lambert, Nicole Richie, Alyssa Milano, Demi Moore, Ben Stiller and Lindsay Lohan have taken to Twitter to get people to help the cause.

Olivia Wilde has taken it one step further by offering a personalised video message to anyone who donates US$200 or more towards the cause. We hope their efforts will manage to raise a lot of money and make a real difference for the victims of the quake.
